Cemetery History

The Jones Cemetery has been in existence since the early 1800's.
The earliest documented grave was opened in 1835.

It was incorporated with New York State in 1849.

There are many war veterans buried here, including a Revolutionary War soldier.
The American Legion post from nearby Trumansburg decorates the veterans' graves with flags every Memorial Day.

Many old family names from the Trumansburg, Perry City, Reynoldsville,
Mecklenburg and Hector areas are well represented here.
